One object, one ID
Duplicate sizes, watermarks and reposts do not create new object records.
The archive is built around traceability, revision and explicit uncertainty. Every plaque, mural, sculpture, timber element, drawing and photograph should have a stable identifier and a route back to primary imagery, formal publication or an authoritative institutional source.
Policy version 1.0 · 31 July 2026Duplicate sizes, watermarks and reposts do not create new object records.
Only an image attributable to the specific object is used as its identification image.
Credits, rights, status and original links appear beside the relevant material.
Pending and partly verified records remain qualified rather than completed by inference.
Capture the object, proposed change, original link, creator and licence.
Prioritise heritage institutions, scholarship, survey catalogues and traceable source pages.
Compare text, floor, orientation, composition and details; reject duplicates and misattributions.
An administrator checks facts, citations, rights and field completeness.
Stable IDs and URLs remain while status, notes and sources improve.
Status describes the present strength of evidence, not the importance of the object.
Identity, location and principal sources agree, and the image matches the object.
The object is identifiable, but an inscription, attribution, date or image needs evidence.
A credible lead exists, but object-level confirmation is incomplete.
The object is historically documented but no verified survivor or image is available.
This site supports architectural research, education and public knowledge; rights remain with authors and publishers.
Creator, platform, licence, original URL and use note are recorded whenever possible. Missing images stay pending.
Article images are embedded only when they occur in the original article; unrelated web images are not substituted.
Publication, exhibition and commercial use require permission from the original rights holder.
Visitors may propose corrections, images and bibliographic leads from a record or contribution page.
Submissions enter a review queue and never publish automatically.
A proposal should identify the change and provide a publicly verifiable original source.
Material may be withdrawn or downgraded while an attribution or rights concern is reviewed.
Use the record title, stable ID, archive name, full URL and access date. Cite the original publication for scholarly claims; cite this archive for its catalogue record, discovery path and editorial version.
