Abstract
An attendant beside Samantabhadra’s elephant mount on the fourth storey, replacing the child and foreign attendant figures visible in 1930s photographs but subsequently lost.
Research note
The surviving elephant attendant is a modern reconstruction documented after the 1960s and must not be catalogued as an original Liao-dynasty sculpture.
